DCE is a Swedish company established in 1998 initially as a specialist in Maritime Consulting and Sales. In 2004 DCE obtained the intellectual property rights to the initial marine architectural concepts for a surface/subsurface swimmer delivery vehicle (SDV).

Subsequently, DCE further developed the concept, and in 2006 launched the prototype with the trade name SEAL. A Swedish Patent was granted for this vessel design in 2006. Since then, and under contract with the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV), DCE has made several changes to the prototype. This advanced prototype was successfully demonstrated on the 3rd of September 2008 to Special Operations representatives from 12 countries. Based on results of three years’ trials, design of the Mark 1 version will be completed by the beginning 2010.

Concurrently, in May 2007, DCE developed the concept and designs for the Torpedo SEAL (an SDV designed to be carried in the standard 533 mm submarine torpedo tube) with the first prototype available for trials in November 2008. This SDV will be further developed in 2009 and ready for production in 2010.

The DCE team of highly skilled engineers and technicians provide a capability to be exceptionally creative and flexible so as to rapidly solve complex problems and to meet any emerging requirements for SDVs.

The SEAL Carrier and Torpedo SEAL are two “members” of DCE’s planned family of SDVs called the SEAL Pod. Other “members” of the SEAL Pod will be the SEAL HI (Harbour Inspection), a three-man surface/subsurface vehicle for ship hull and harbour bottom inspections; and the SEAL JR (Junior), a three-man surface/subsurface vehicle for recreation purposes.
